Arsenal VS West Ham - The Tales Of Two Penalty

Arsenal win against West Ham put Arsenal back to the top of the table. Two penalties awarded in that games, 1 penalty for each side. A red card for Vermaelen. 10 men Arsenal triuph against 11 men West Ham.

Arsenal lead on the 5th minutes thanks to Denilson goal after a beautiful set up by Bendtner. A truly Arsenal type goal. Things all look good for Arsenal. Arsenal surely control the games and could have score another goals. A beautiful run by Fabregas but Bendtner pass just couldn't found him. It stay 1-0 until on the 44th minutes Vermaelen brought down Franco in the penalty box. A straight card for Vermaelen and Arsenal are down to 10 men. Diamanti steps up t take the spot kick. Its Diamanti vs Almunia this time. Then Diamanti kick and Almunia saves. Almunia become the instant hero and it's still 1-nil to the Arsenal. Songs then take Vermaelen places on the field. The CB partnership is now Campbell and Song.

2nd half with Arsenal down to ten men. upsuprisingly, West Ham finally have some grip at the game. They look more treatening with Arsenal just happy to defend and look for the counter attack. The turning point of the games start when Nasri were subs for introduction of Sagna. Eboue then slotted to the right wing posititon. A combination of Eboue and Fabregas then earn a penalty after Upson handled the ball inside the box. Fabregas step up and scores the second goal ensuring all 3 points for Arsenal.

Arsenal win because Arsenal convert the spot kick and West Ham not. 7 games to go. Come on Gunners.

A win against West Ham ensure Arsenal top of the table

Arsenal come to Saturday game with a game against West Ham at Emirates Stadium. A win will saw Arsenal leap frog Chelsea & Man Utd for first place for 20 hours at least.

On paper this is a sure 3 point for Arsenal. But recall the last games against West Ham, a win is not a guaranteed. I think Arsenal will win this games but they will not be given an easy ride by West Ham. Really looking forward for Bendtner to score yet another goal. This will sure boost the already confidence Bendtner.

Fabregas, Rosicky & Song will return but I think only Song that will start. Arsene might want to take thing easy for Fabregas & Rosicky as they just come back from injuries. Maybe they will fixture for the last 15 miutes or so for warming up depend on the result that time.

In goal will be Almunia. In defence Sagna, Campbell, Vermaelen & Clichy. The 2 CB, the only 2 signing Arsene made this season, have been marvelous at the back. Unlucky to concede the penalty at Hull, SC31 & TV5 partnership really impresive so far. Most of all when SC31 & TV5 playing & with Bendtner also defending the corner, we didn't concede a goal yet from set piece ( Porto goal was an exception). Arsenal now more solid when defending the corners & free kicks.

In midfield 3, Song are favorite to start ( after come back from 2 match suspension) alongside Diaby & Nasri. Denilson & Fabregas as sub. Song a revolution this year in the holding role that I will suprise if he is not picked for the PL IX at the end of season. Whenever he playing, the defender look more relax and the fullback can attack more often. Diaby & Nasri will provide spark at the middle suppling the attacking 3.

For the attacking 3, Walcott might come in for Eboue with Arshavin & Bendtner a guaranteed starter. Bendtner & Arshavin are on form right now. They are expected to get the goals Arsenal needed to win this game. Walcott start will boost his confidence more if he able to influence the game. Walcott now play for a ticket to World Cup and I hope he will tear the defences apart with his pace and goal to his name will do him good.

The rival for the title play on Sunday. Man Utd vs Liverpool & Chelasea vs Blackburn. Looking forward for a win to Liverpool & Balckburn. Liverpool in fine form right now scoring 7 goals in last 2 matches. As for Blackburn, hard to see them winning. But I just hoping that Chelsea down mentally from 1-0 defeat to Inter and Blackburn try to look for upsetting them.
Anyway, looking forward to the game this weekend. go on you Gunners.

Arsenal continue to pressure on top spot with a 2-1 win over Hull

A last gasp goal for Nicklas Bendtner ensure another win for Arsenal and keep on the pressure on Man Utd & Chelsea. Another goal for Bendtner after a hat-trick in the mid week might show the Gooners that Arsene Wenger is right to have faith in him and not sign a striker in the January transfer window.

An opening goal from Arshavin might show that Arsenal with beat the hell out Hull with 3 to 5 goals but that was not the case when Hull score from the penalty spot. A red card to Boateng should have ease Arsenal and make Arsenal score for fun but that was not the case. In fact Hull kept Arsenal at bay for most of the time and it seems it might lead to a 1-1 draw. But credit to the lads, they kept on pressing and was awarded at the injury times when Bendtner yet again become the savior and score for 2-1 win for Arsenal.

Currently in 2nd spot with same point with Chelsea and things might get better if Man Utd fail to win against Fulham ( hopefully that will happen). With 8 games to go, Arsenal really cannot afford to drop any point from now on. Next league match against West Ham at home. Man Utd will host Liverpool and Chelsea will visit Blackburn. Any prediction on the result?

Can Bendtner be the main striker for Arsenal?

What to say about Nicklas Bendtner? A big 22 year old striker from Denmark does raise a food for thought for all the Gooners out there. 8 goal in 14 start with 8 subs appearance totalling 22 games hardly a good stats for any striker. But with 5 goals come for the last 4 matches, that is what a stats everybody want from any striker.

When he was injured, Arsenal does looking missing him. Arsenal look to miss the big target upfront that can challenge the opposing team centre back. With Eduardo & Arshavin upfront, the opposing CB really enjoy the cross and high ball with no physical challenge from Eduardo and Arshavin to compete for the ball. But with Bendtner, the opposing CB really have to work hard to win the crosses & high ball. Bendtner also able to hold up the ball & bring the midfield to play.

When he misses all the chances against Burnley, I remember a lot of fans want him to be sold and to replace him with a new striker. But the performances against Porto, sure prove all the fans who want his head wrong. A hat-trick with lesser chances show he can scores. To give him credit, he just didn't stop trying even if the goal god are against him. His work rate just something we should credit him for. Even if he didn't score, he does contribute to the build up to the goal.

At the age of 22, there is still room for Bendtner to improve. Even the great TH14 didn't become a regular scoring machine at that age. By didn't scoring in a game with a lot of chances misses, that does happen to any striker in the world. Even the great goal scoring machine like Filipo Inzaghi misses chances. All we gooners can hope is that Bendtner can improve his game and kept the goal scoring streak at the final sprint to the title.

So can Bendtner be the main striker for Arsenal? If he keep on improving, I believe he can be the next top goal scorer for Arsenal if he stay at arsenal for a long time. At the age of 22 with already 32 Arsenal goal to his name, I does believe he can beat TH14 goal record. He have at least 8 season to do it. Keep on improving day by day, Bendtner will answer the problem to Arsenal striker position. Good luck Bendtner.

1down 9 games to go

A win against Burnley put Arsenal same point as Chelsea with Arsenal play 1 game more & 1 point behind Man Utd. 3-1 win & still 3rd on the table. But it does put Arsenal in the driving seat to paunch on Chelsea & Man Utd mistake.

A goal from Fabregas, Walcott & Arshavin ensure a win to Arsenal. Another goal contributed by our talismatic captain but recurrence of the hamstring injuries worries the gooners especially when Arsenal need to win all the games remaining. Another injuries are not welcome during this final sprint to the title. Walcott scores & it might give him back his confidence after a disappointing England outing which earn him a lot of bad critics. This also show people what he is capable of. Arshavin return with a goal really a boost to the team.

About Bendtner who didn't scores this time and misses a lot of chances. Do Arsenal really need another striker to replace him? Arsenal does miss him when he is injured. Arshavin can play as an emergency striker, but he is better in midfield and he really quite when marked by 2 CB. Maybe another 2 season Bendtner need to answers his critics and delevired or he might found himself replace provided there is another better striker in the market or come through the youth system.

No matter how the players performe, the most important things is Arsenal get the result that is winning the game. Win all the remaining games & see what will happen at the league table. I confident Arsenal can do it & win the league title.

Title Decided By Beating Team Outside Top Four

When Arsenal lose to Chealsea, Man Utd & Man City, people write off Arsenal from winning the league and say Arsenal are not worth to become the champion. But now Arsenal are in the driving seat to capture the league title. Arsenal now like a lion lurking for its prey waiting it to make mistake and then pounch on it. Another lose to Chelsea & Man Utd with Arsenal keep winning will see Arsenal top of the league by goal difference.

Why people think Arsenal can't win the title, I also don't understand. It not how much point you win against the big four that will decided the title but the consistancy throughout the season. Last season Arsenal gain the most point against the top four compared to other team in the league but still fourth. Man Utd gain the least point among the top four and won the league.

It always how team performed against the team outside the top four. Last season we lost against the team Arsenal should have beaten. That really cost Arsenal. The lesser team always target to not losing (where there defend with 10 men & play very rough) and Arsenal found it hard to score and always lose physically. But this season Arsenal are different. Arsenal really can play rough if they are provoked. Arsenal gain more point from games against team outside top four compared to last season.

With Chelsea & Man utd yet to play each other ( where they will drop point) & Arsenal play team outside top 4., all Arsenal need to do is win all the remaining games & hoping Chelsea & Man Utd colapse in the final sprint to the title.

Arsenal Need To Win The Title

After the tragic injury to Ramsey, we heard a lot of thigs come out either from news page or blog. One things I like to come out with is about Arsenal winning the title this season. Most of us want Arsenal to win the title for Ramsey. For me, Arsenal need to win the title not for Ramsey but the whole team itself.

Early the season we are favorites to lose the 4th stop. I say I glad we lose the 4th spot to be on the 1st spot as the champion. We have the best chances to win the title this year. Being 3 point behind with 10 games to go, it doesn't sound any better.

Arsenal also tipped off out from the top 4 b'coz everybody say they say they know how to play against Arsenal. For them they just need to kick us around they park and Arsenal certainly can't play their brand of football. This mindset in the end lead to broken leg of Ramsey. I don't know what people see, but for me Arsenal are not a team that anyone can buuly anymore. We see most of the game this season, we can play rough. But once we play rough, the opponent will get angry. Title winning this season not only to prove we have the mental strenght, consistentency and hunger for success but it will show people no team can say they can stop Arsenal by playing rough.

The success this season will depend on how we can cope with physical play by the opponent as that how the smaller team always play against the big team.
