Poll: What will be Arsenal position at the end of September?
The transfer window is close. I quess no more signing after Squillaci. Many fans have been dissappointed with the lack of transfer especially in the goalkeeping department. Many have question the ambition of the club. Many didn't convince that Arsenal capable of challenging the title. But before we look to far at the future at the end of season, why don't we look it month by month basis. Give your opinion on the poll at the side bar. What will be the position of Arsenal by the end of September? Currently Arsenal second with 2 points behind Chelsea. Give your say.

Does The Current Squad Number A Good Reason To Be Optimistic?
Does any gooners out there realise the shirt number of the current squad and its similarity with the invincibles? I do found there some similarity in term of the number combination with the position of the players that wear it.
First of all we look at defender. The similarity is at number 5,6,18,20 and 22. Current user for number 5 & 6 are Vermaelen & Koscielny and from the invicibles are Keown & Adams. Current user for number 18 & 20 are Squillaci & Djourou and from the invicibles are Cygan and Senderos. For 22 is worn by Clichy and he is the only survivor from the invicibles squad. Number 18 for both era are French and number 20 are Swiss. See any similarity here?
At the midfield, the similarity is at number 4, 7 & 8. Number 4 was worn by Vieira and currently worn by Cesc, a young boy from Barcelona who was recruited to be Vieira replacement. Number 7 was worn by Pires and currently worn by Rosicky, who was bought as a replacement for Pires when Pires opted to leave. Number 8 was worn by Ljungberg and now worn by Nasri, both can play at the left and right side of the midfield and also at the middle as an attacking midfielder. See any similarity here?
At attacking department we look at number 10, 11 and 14. Number 10 was worn by the Dutch Master Dennis Bergkamp and now wear by his apprentice, also Dutch, Robin Van Persie. Number 11 was worn by Wiltord and currently wear by Vela. Both not an automatic first 11 but when come as a sub, they are both effective. Number 14 was worn by arsenal leading goal scorer Thierry Henry. Now the guy who wear number 14 is Theo. Both are the fastest man on the team and in the league or even Europe. Correct me if I'm wrong about this fact. See any similarity here?
Maybe it is a wrong reason to be optimistic and have no basis. But if you believe in Feng Shui, it is reason to be optimistic. However, I hope the squad number position combination will bring Arsenal luck and TROPHIES to Emirates for the FIRST time.

Another Arsenal Win. 2-1 Win Against Blackburn
A goal at each half from Theo Walcott and Andrei Arshavin ensure a hard fought 2-1 win over Blackburn. A good revenge from a last season defeat. But how was the game goes by?
Statistically it was a Arsenal enjoying more possession. But game wise both team have a fair share to win the game but Arsenal make it through with a 2-1 win. Surprise it seems, Blackburn unable bring the physicals and aerial play much to Arsenal.
Theo Walcott goals just class. A run behind the leftback remind me of Ljungberg during his glory day. A quick pass from Robin Van Persie outside boots remind me of Dennis Bergkamp pass to Ljungberg, a combination that won Arsenal a lot of games and silverware. A pass from Van Persie found Walcott have produce the first goal. The finishing was great. Low and hard at the far post giving Robinson no chances at all. it seems Theo finishing have improve a lot from last season.
Blackburn goal just a poor goal to concede. The big question here is, where is Sagna? Kos make a good effort to try to block Samba but it just not enough to stop him from making a pass for El-Hadji Diouf ( a man Arsenal fans really love to hate).
The three points was secure by Arshavin goal. A lucky bounce from Cesc shot that hit Theo and fall kindly for him to slot the ball past Robinson from the second goal. A bit lucky but Arsenal are due of luck last season and we does need one and we got it twice already this season worth 3 points. 1 point from Liverpool and 2 from this game.
From my previous post, I expect Blackburn will test Arsenal defence capability defending set pieces and high ball. And so they does it again. the same old tactics time and time again. But this time Arsenal defence can cope with their strategies. Instead of Arsenal defender struggle, it is their striker find it hard to past our defender. Always falling with the slightest of touch and complaining for not getting the foul. Now who always cry out for fouls and being softy?
Anyway, a good win for Arsenal. I hope this game will define Arsenal season that is Arsenal are there to grab the title and bring it to Emirates for the first time. Next match will be against Bolton after a international break. How I hate international break. Already have a lot of international football this season. Finger cross, Arsenal players will come back having more match fitness and free from injuries.

Game Against Blackburn Will Define Arsenal Season
This weekend Arsenal will go to Blackburn. This game will define how Arsenal season will be. Surprise how a game against a mid table team? Usually the season are define when a game between a title contender collide. How many times Arsenal win against the top four team and still haven't won the title? It is because Arsenal lose points against the team they should have defeat.
Why the game against Blackburn will build Arsenal momentum this season? Like always it seems that Arsenal really hate against Sam Allardyce team. I found it is hard to win against Sam Allardyce team and they seems always perform against Arsenal. It looks like Sam know how to play Arsenal.
As always Sam tactic will play all the high ball and look for set piece. So we expect an aerial bombardment this weekend. This is where Arsenal defences will have their biggest test. Arsenal defending against high ball always poor for few season since the departure of Sol and the partnership of Gallas and Toure start. Gallas, Toure and Senderos just not capable defending the high ball which have cost Arsenal a lot at set pieces. If only Arsenal have done better with set pieces and aerial ball, Arsenal will win titles for sure. Lot of points lost and also confidence and belief of the lads.
For next game against Blackburn the new defensive line up will take place. The number 5 and 6 does look better than number 10 and 5 last season. Kos have been impressive against Liverpool and Vermaelen look like he start from where he was left last season, always impressive. Against Liverpool they are hardly tested with constant high ball where as Blackburn main strategy is playing the high ball. If the partnership can cope with the constant aerial bombardment by Blackburn, the season will look positive and it means our biggest weakness in defences have improve.
The other test will be set pieces. Arsenal known for terrible in defending set piece. This will be the biggest test of all. Arsenal need to defend the set pieces well. Almunia need to step up his game for this one. He need to be commanding and claim all the high ball. The likes or Kos, Vermaelen, Song, Diaby and Chakmakh will need to mark their man well and not give them space at all.
If Arsenal can come out from this game and keep the clean sheet, the morale of the players will be boosted. They know they have what it takes to defend against the team that play high ball and good at set pieces. It will do Arsenal season a lot of difference. Arsenal need to improve at this department and the best way to show it is against Sam Allardyce team.

Class Act From Rosicky And Walcott. Arsenal Mean Business By Thrashing Blackpool 6-0
Arsenal start a new season at Emirates with a 6-0 thrashing of Blackpool. The arrival of the clock and north bank sure have a positive sign. Hey maybe Arsenal can win the title this season.
The best player on the field must be Rosicky. He is just class. He really demonstrate how to play the free role position. All his pass is outstanding and his overall contribution is world class. If compares to Nasri last game, Rosicky just far better. How many throughball did Rosicky made compares to Nasri. It is a lot and Nasri, I haven't remember if he had any through pass. It does look like we got our little Mozart back. And I'm really glad to see him to finished the whole 90 minutes. It seems a long times since he able to finish the whole game. If he keep fit the whole season and play the free role, I confident Arsenal can win the title.
Not to forgot the hat-trick hero. It seems strange that Theo got his first hat-trick for England before he can even had it at Arsenal. It must be a day to remember for him. With Capello watching, Im sure he glad he give a performance that will make Capello regret of exclude him from England World Cup squad. I quess it must a great game when a person with no football brain can score a hat-trick. After the World Cup dissappointment, Theo just getting stronger and he has shown to his critics what he is made of.
And we just cannot stop to talk about Wilshere and criticise Arshavin didn't we. Wilshere are given 90 minutes and he just cherish it. He look good today but he also make some mistake. anyway he can be forgiven. Just look at Fabregas. In the future, Wilshere will be a world class player if he keep on developing at this pace. As for Arshavin, he just poor. He just not deserve a starting place. Two poor game equivalent to dropping out at the bench. Maybe warming up the bench will do him some good.It will make him know he is not and automatic starter.
The rest of the team doing good. And I'm really impress with Song. Calm and collective at the centre back. Anyway Arsenal will have Kos back next game and Song will be in the midfield .
9 more days to transfer window closing. I really hope Arsene will buy 1 or 2 players to strengten the defense. I also hope (keep my finger crosses) that Mourinho will raid the Chelsea squad and bring it to Madrid. After Carvalho, I hope to see Droga and Cole to go joining Real Madrid.
Come on Arsenal. I believe this is our season to raid the Premiership. Another unbeaten season will be excepted with an open arm.

Arsenal Desperation Make The Transfer Very Difficult
Arsenal seems like desperate for defenders and goalkeeper. It is really shown and Arsenal continue looking for a Centre Back and Goalkeeper in the market. It look like good new as Arsene trying to strengthen the squad.
Current situation didn't look good and Arsenal look so desperate. Does the desperate look make the transfer very hard. It look like every club raise the price for defender and goalkeeper that Arsenal are interested in. Why this thing happening? They know Arsenal are desperate. They know Arsenal have money to pay. They know Arsenal need to sort the defender and goalkeeping before the transfer window is close or Arsenal can kiss the season goodbye.
On any other day, Schwacher wouldn't cost up to 4 million. Fulham will be happy if anybody want to buy him for 2 million. If Arsenal are not desperate for goalkeeper, Arsenal can easily buy him or any other good goalkeeper for a bargain price. As for the defender, Arsenal hardly can find agreement for the fee of the defender they want. 8 million for 31 year old is a lot of money. Other club are aware of Arsenal need and they ask 3 or 4 million more from their players worth.
A lot of fans are getting impatient now. But what can be done now. Most people want Arsene stop being skint and just pay for whatever the fee is. But, is it wise to do so? At first it look like it is but actually it is not because in the future people will keep increase the price of the players. So it does not look good.
Even though it look like the transfer might happen or might not happen, I just hope the current squad can cope with the season and maybe in January we can bring another player where in look like it is easier for Arsenal to buy players.

Arsenal Draw 1-1 With Liverpool. I don't Know Whether To Be Happy Or Not
Arsenal start the new season with 1-1 draw with Liverpool. After readint many Gunner blog, I have a mixed feeling just like any gooners aroung the globe. Some are happy with the draw having been write off (yet again year after year) before the ball waas even kicked. Some are not happy because Liverpool just not good (not even Steven Gerrard) and 10 men for the rest of the second half and yet Arsenal failed to win. On the players performance, there are a lot of opinion. I'm not going to write about opinion I saw from the other blogs, I'm going to write my own and how I saw the game.
I cannot say I'm happy in fact I'm not happy. No matter how people have write Arsenal off, I will never happy with less than 3 points. The performances against Liverpool are so average that I have to check whether i'm waching the right team playing. to say Arsenal are pressuring Liverpool, the fact that I see, Arsenal are not much better from them. Even with all the possession, and promissing move, almost have nothing to do. But how was the lads performance?
The World Cup French palyer just not that good. Sagna, Diaby and Clichy performance just not up to the expectation. Maybe they still got the Anelka boycott syndrom. Sagna look solid only because Liverpool hardly have any attacking start from the left. Agger just stay at the back and I don't even know if Liverpool have any player at the wide left. Clichy just getting bombarded time and time again by Kuyt, Johnson and Ngog and with Arshavin is no help at all Clichy really look struggling in this game. Diaby? I thaught he supposed to be a defensive midfielder? He just don't provide any cover to the centre back at all.
Arshavin. I don't know what to say about him. A 20 million genius or 20 million of waste? For 20 million, I hope to see 10 times better performance than that. His dribbling just bad and so his flick and passing. Apart from the cross that lead to the goal, his contribution just like almost zero. Eboue also didn't do much at the game. I cannot remember any good contribution from him. I think he is better come on as a sub rather than starting up.
Wilshere have a good game for a 18 year old for his full debut. But he still need to learn and his senior just didn't give him much help either. His mistake lead to a goal. Anyway good learning point for him. It will make him realise that he just cannot make any more mistake in games. Nasri didn't play very well at all. Despite all of his passing and involvement in the game, he rarely threat the Liverpool defences at all. His freekick just poor. After practising freekicks everyday, I expect him to at least make the goalkeeper work. Chakmakh doing quite well. He was well marked but his desire just help Reina make the mistake that leads to the goals. We haven't see that desire to attack crosses last season. A different dimension of play by Chakmakh.
Koscielny and Vermaelen look solid at the back. Vermaelen can be blame for the goal as he step up a bit let and play Ngog onside. Vermaelen almost score and winning a few header from the set piece. Koscielny have a good debut until he was red carded. Not even Torres can pass him in the game. Good no nonsense defender he is and what Arsenal have lack for a long times since the departure of Martin Keown. Almunia have a shaky game. Maybe to much things running to his mind. Overall he have a quite game.
The subs have been superb. Rosicky, Theo and Van Persie all doing well. Theo and Rosicky almost score and they even make Agger fall sick. But what make it interesting about them. Their shirt number. No. 7, 10 & 14. The number that have make Arsenal a force to be reckon when the like of Pires, Bergkamp and Henry wearing them. With additional of number 4 of Cesc, it seems there is a good sign. It have been a long time since those number have combined in attack (since the number 10 was last worn by Gallas).
But overall, I'm not happy with the draw. But I'm looking for positive result for the next game and the rest of the season. The last time no. 4, 7, 10 & 14 combined in the attack, Arsenal won the league undefeated. Hopefully this combination of numbers willbring Arsenal something to cheer for at the end of the season.

Yes Harry. Arsenal Are Better Than England and also Spurs
Harry Redknapp come out to the press and saying maybe Arsenal are better than England. He criticise Fabio Capello selection for England friendly this week. For me Capello did made a right decision. It just a friendly and it is time to do some experiment for the future. Why keep on using the same players when there are others knocking on the door.
Redknapp should respect Capello decision. Given the right players, he will surely delivers. Just look at his track record. He won title everywhere he goes. Capello know what he is doing. Maybe know he is looking for the right players with the right attitude for his squad. Forget all the spoilt England golden generation. At my country the golden generation are referred to those old people. No wonder England cannot go far with the golden generation because they are old and cannot play as good as the energetic young people.
Beside criticise Capello, I do get the feeling Redknapp try to get into the war of words with Arsenal. Maybe he not satisfied that his English players not selected while the Arsenal players are selected. Maybe these Arsenal youngster are not guaranteed a first team place like the Spuds English players but it doesn't mean they are not better than the Spurs. It just show how superior Arsenal compare to Spurs. The likes of Walcott, Wilshere & Gibbs sure will give Capello somethings to smile upon. And they also have something that England have lack for all this years, class and commitment with no outside affair distract them.
If we like to compare England and Arsenal, yes Arsenal are better than England. Arsenal play the best football in the league. If compares player to player, Arsenal and England maybe are equal. But of course, football is not an individual game. It is a game of 11 players. As an unit, Arsenal are more superior than England. And who can argues. If there is an opportunity that a match of England vs Arsenal take place, I confident Arsenal will run riot and have a goal fest against England. And after that, there will be another English players make a reckless tackle to break another Arsenal promising players just because they cannot keep up with him.
So Harry, to make thing straight and in case you never realise, Arsenal are BETTER than England and spurs.

What I See During Emirates Cup
Emirates Cup now have become season curtan raiser for ARsenal. What I like about the competition, we can see the upcoming team for the new season and the lads will have a competetive friendly match against the top team before the new season start.
This season Emirates Cup have let us witness two upcoming talent in Arsenal squad in the shape of Wilshere, Frimpong & Jay Emmanuel Thomas. We also have witness the new partneship at the heart of Arsenal defence. Like always there always a positive and negative we can witness.
THE POSITIVE
1. Emergence of the young talent
This year the world have witness how much talent Arsenal have in the sleeve which under 21 of age. The emergence of Frimpong and Jay Emmanuel Thomas really amazed us. And who says our youth policy haven't bear a fruit and waste a times. The youth academy wll be very important escpecially with the new system coming in. All this while the young talent have been overshadowed by the big money transfer. With the new system, everybody have to introduce their youth players to the first team.
2. The confidence of Wilshere and Gibbs
This two lads have been featured in the first team before. At the Emirates Cup, they look more confidence and composed. Wilshere just like a wizard at the middle of the field. Always involved in the play and whenever needed, he help in the defending also. Gibbs continuosly show his rapid development at the left back and I confident he will give Clichy a competion. Things does look bright fro the Arsenal and England.
3. Walcott
A seems like putting the dissappointment of the World Cup behind him. Constantly give trouble to the defender and if only his final ball is good, he wll be unstoppable. But well done Theo. He look like bouncing back to his best.
4. Good Attacking
What can we say about Arsenal. Among the best attacking team in the world. Chakmakh really look impressive. Good in the air and deadly, he just what Arsenal need. Vela looking good. The big bonus, Arsenal look always treatening even without Cesc.
THE NEGATIVE
1. The Defence
What can we say about the defence. Always leak. This season seems like no improvement. The weakness in Arsenal defence is the concentration. Last season Arsenal lost the title due to lack of concentration from the defender and goalkeeper. At the Emirates Cup also the same. After leading, we concede when at the end of the game. This sort of concentration need to be solve at once.
2. Mark Randall
He says he didn;t want to play when the reserve lose 1-4. But who can blame the boss for not bringing him. His arrival at the games against Milan didn't bring any significant effect. He don't look confident. All he do is just a simple pass. Rarely involved and too scare to try. He has been with Arsenal for ages already. He should be better. I just have on opinion about him. Just offload him and bring younger and confident player in his place.
3. Goalkeeper Issue
Almunia and Fabianski look better than last season. Whats the issue? It still didn't solve anything at all. The number 1 jersey still open just like and open auction.
Anyway, I just can wait to the new season. Have been so bored with no Arsenal games during offseason. Future does look bright for Arsenal. I hope with the new system, Arsenal will have a better chances. Apart from Arsenal, most of the teams will struggle when the injuries to their 25 man squad taking its toll. And also not to forget, England future look bright to. Wilshere, Walcott, Jay Emmanuel Thomas, Gibbs and Frimpong (if he changes his mind and want to play for England).
